STNGR Hanguards Good To Go

STNGR HWK Handguards
I received a 10” HWK MLOK Handguard for review recently from STNGR and honestly I am absolutely sold on them from here on out! The quality and price point is a definite game changer for me personally, as some of you may know I am constantly on the search for the balance of quality to price. STNGR absolutely nailed it in every single category, the price, quality of handling, product, and warranty absolutely left me in awe. In the past I have acquired quite a few handguards from various companies some have exceeded and went above and beyond and some have been found severely lacking in every category. This was not the case with STNGR and I will touch on a few aspects to justify the above statement further into the review but I have to give credit where it is due.

Initial thoughts while scrolling through their website was that they had a very easy to navigate and good flowing page and was very user friendly. But, seeing how I was working on an AR pistol I went with the 10” HWK MLOK because well it looked pretty awesome and looked highly functional for my builds needs. The handguard arrived really quickly about 3-4 days after it was shipped so like a kid on Christmas morning I tore into the package and seen something I have yet to see on a handguard before it was totally surrounded in foam. I know it may not seem like a big deal to receive a product packaged this way but, in my opinion the first glimpse is the initial introduction of a consumer to a company and to have the product handled with such care is absolutely astounding. In this price range (about $125) you generally just get something shipped loosely in a plastic bag or thrown around and you will essentially receive a blemished product due to lack of care.

So, after getting over the initial awe from the packaging I went to installing the barrel nut which they use a clamshell type method of attachment so it was super easy. I threaded the barrel nut on hand tight after applying a bit of loc-tite and looked over and noticed even more excellence they provide the barrel nut wrench attachment as well. This just goes to speak even more volumes about this company’s consideration for the consumer, I honestly cannot stand when a company requires a non-standard size barrel nut and they do not provide the barrel nut wrench attachment. So I torqued the barrel nut to the provided factory specifications and slipped the handguard on and torqued it down as well. I then started doing a bit of weapons manipulation and dry-fire with it just to familiarize myself with the handguard as a whole is when the magic happened.

Generally, in this price range the finish on the handguard is rough feeling however, the STNGR HWK had a smooth even finish that was hard and durable. I used and abused the handguard on the range after the 24 hour recommended setting time for the loc-tite. The HWK handguard was very solid and extremely well balanced between the ports that were cut into it for weight reduction and to dissipate the heat faster from rapid firing magazine after magazine. It actually ended up taking about 5 magazines (150 rounds) in quick succession to let me know I should put my range gloves on from the heat but took an additional 4 magazines (270 rounds) afterwards until it was to hot to handle. I let it cool down for about 35-40 minutes and came back and it was back to normal temperatures again and ready to put in more work on the range.

All in all, I have to say that STNGR makes an extremely solid and great quality product at a very manageable price point. Not only do you get an outstanding handguard when you purchase from them but you get a warranty that in this industry you simply will not see often, unconditional 100% lifetime no questions asked return for exchange or money back. If that does not scream customer loyalty in the most obvious way I simply do not know what could be more obvious. It has been heated up and thrown around far more then it should have been and survived flawlessly on my range it has been thoroughly used and abused and exceeded every expectation. If you are in the market I cannot recommend STNGR enough to you check one out you will not be disappointed #jointheswarm.
