Aluma Grips AR pistol grip review

Recently I did a review for Aluma Grips for my CZ75B, well they are back again with another product. I asked Aluma Grips for one of their checkered AR pistol grips as it looked interesting. Aluma Grips got it out to me as soon as they could, which was about three days once they finished the machining process. It came in via USPS and the packaging was simple but effective for keeping the product secure. I pulled the grip from the package and took a look at the pistol grip before I attached it to my AR.

The finish on the grip is a very nice anodized black. The checkering is just like that on my CZ75B grips but much larger. What caught me by surprise was that this is not a billet piece of aluminum, it is two pieces of aluminum that have been attached extremely well. I tested the grip by trying to pry it apart with my hands an even a tool and it would not come apart. At first, I was concerned about how aggressive the grip was in my hand off the rifle because it feels like small spikes digging into my hand, but once I got the grip on my 5.56 rifle the grip was comfortable. Installing the grip was very simple, it uses the same screw as a Magpul grip and installs very easily.

I was able to get out to the range and run around with the grip. I shot mag after mag to test the grip and how it felt on my hands. I felt the aggressiveness on my hands but it was never uncomfortable.

My final thoughts, while at first the grip appears to be overly aggressive the checkering is comfortable and can make it to where it is harder for the grip to slip out of your hand compared to a standard A2 grip or some of the other grips on the market that decide to leave checkering off their aluminum grips.
