U.S.A. (Libertyreport.co) Just as you thought the hits would just about stop coming an unsuspecting hit comes in from Hi-Point firearms with a new press release stating that they will be dropping Dick’s and its subsidiary Field and Stream from their distribution list. Essentially a strongly worded big middle finger to the Dick’s CEO and affiliates caught everyone off guard with the release. Hi-Point worded this release so elegantly it made me want to go out and buy one immediately after reading!
“In recent months, Dick’s Sporting Goods and its subsidiary, Field & Stream, have shown themselves, in our opinion, to be no friend to the Americans’ Second Amendment,” Said Charles Brown the President of MKS Supply, LLC. “We believe that refusing to sell long guns to adults under the age of 21, while many young adults in our military are not similarly restricted, is wrong. We believe that villainizing modern sporting rifles in response to pressure from uninformed, anti-gun voices is wrong. We believe that hiring lobbyists to oppose American citizens’ freedoms secured by the Second Amendment is wrong. Dick’s Sporting Goods and Field & Stream, in purportedly doing all of these things, have demonstrated that they do not share our values.”
That is about the most pleasant way I have ever seen to tell someone you have destroyed your customer base and everyone does not want to associate with you. Furthermore, the boycott is rolling on even stronger as people now go to stores that support their habits and values whether it is a big box store or a smaller local one. It is finally happening the American citizens are using their wallets along with their voices to show displeasure in bad decisions from companies that choose to be a political pawn. I Have not heard any press release from Dick’s or Field & Stream as of yet but I am willing to bet they will be busy for a few days trying to save face and attempt some type of damage control. Regardless of how they try to spin this, everyone already knows about the terrible decisions they have made and the damage has been done.
I am ever so proud of Springfield, Mossberg, and Hi-Point it almost brings a tear to my eye seeing them cease dealings with a company that makes money off the Second Amendment while trying to destroy it. Seeing big businesses actually, listen to the voice of its customer base and actually act upon them in their stance is simply amazing and should be the standard of how businesses should conduct themselves. I am not rooting for big companies to get political but I am rooting for when a company like Dick’s and Field & Stream decide to step outside their lane, that they should feel the repercussions of their actions. The boycott train is running hard on Dick’s Sporting Goods and Field & Stream as they deserve so let us Americans keep the steam in the locomotive and push through!
