Spartan Precision Bipods

By Roger Frame

U.S.A.(Liberty Report)-You do not come across very many innovative products in the gun world very often anymore but this company’s bipod definitely needs to be put into the spotlight. After a few emails back and forth with Mr.G (owner of Spartan Precision) he decided to send one on over to me here in the U.S.A. and I have been hooked on the Javelin bipod ever since. Composed of high grade carbon fiber as well as high grade aluminum the finished product completely blew me away its is so lightweight at just over 5 ounces (yes you read that correctly). Now, to the game changer part…. You only need 1 of these bipods because they detach magnetically so all you need to buy is the base piece the Javelin attaches to! So, if you have 5 rifles that use bipods you order one Javelin bipod kit and 4 extra bases and bam you are all set to go without buying 5 bipods considering you only shoot one at a time saving you piles of money and providing you with some very high quality gear.

Although it is primarily used just for hunters at the moment the practical application for avid long range shooters like myself is simply amazing. It is designed to be carried in your pocket until needed to prevent any snags on underbrush or limbs providing you with both a sleek snagless rifle as well as within about 1 second to deploy the bipod and start tracking your kill. However, for my application it has been used in some multiple distance steel shooting if you have ever been to any competition style distance shooting events you will notice that nothing is in a straight line so you will have to uproot and reposition your bipod if you have a standard style one. Not with the Javelin, it gives you 30 degrees of tracking abilities so you can transition to the next target by simply finding the new target in your reticle as opposed to picking up your rifle and moving it costing you seconds that could be shaved off or used elsewhere. Another huge benefit is it has cant adjustment left and right already available just a spin of the knob of the front and bam you can level out your rifle in under a second and get back in the game. Another amazing selling point, it already has built in spikes for additional traction! Other companies charge you addition $50-75 just for the spikes and that is absolutely absurd, with the Javelin just pop off the rubber boots on the feet and there they are.

Truth be told, if you were to get a bipod of this quality 1 for 1 it would be the same price at about $300 per unit but do you really want to spend that much when you pick up a second rifle for the same boring bipod that is only good for one rifle? I can not see how anyone can justify buying another bipod after my experience with the Javelin. The other bipods are way heavier, have a good chance of getting snagged on something, get in the way of un-supported shots, more cumbersome, the list goes on for days why the Javelin is superior to same quality bipods. Lets say you have just 3 rifles that would require a bipod, and you have a choice between spending $450 for a bipod that will service all 3 or $1000+ for individual bipods for the 3 rifles, what would you choose? Me personally I know that the $600 or so savings would buy me a lot of ammo or even almost pay for a new Vortex Viper HS-T with the savings. But I am a practical thinker so I will leave that choice up to you because you are the consumer! My job is to tell you about it as I have, I would certainly recommend you take a solid good look at Spartan Precision Javelin’s and I am certain that you will not regret it.
