CZ-75B – Aluma Grip Review

A few weeks ago, I got bored with my Glock 22, it was mildly modified but it wasn’t needed anymore. I have my Glock 34 and my Glock 22 wasn’t exactly best for concealed carry. I decided it was time to trade the Glock 22 for a CZ75B and one other firearm I immediately sold off. The CZ75B was what I wanted more than anything. I shot a CZ75B Omega that was owned by Roger Frame. After that experience I knew I needed one.

Once I completed the trade I spent time working with it. I did dry fire, I broke it down and spent a good amount of time working with it. But the grip that the previous owner put on it were not for me. They were rubber and the finger grooves were too big and the meat hooks I call fingers did not fit well. My left middle finger was driven into the trigger guard to the point that it was uncomfortable to grip. I decided that that point I needed to get a new set of grips.

After looking through a few places I settled on the Aluma Grips Tactical checkered silver grips. Shipping from time of order was same day and sent with two-day shipping, I ordered them late Tuesday night and they were shipped Wednesday morning. Packaging was simple, a bubble envelope with the grip in a plastic bag on the inside. The grips were separated from each other by a piece of cardboard keeping them from damaging each other during shipping.
Installation was very simple as with most CZs it was a single screw. This personally caught me off guard as my AR grips with removable scales have two screw minimum, 1911s have two screws and many steel frame handguns have a similar set up. But not the CZ, the grips slid on easily and tightened down without an issue. Once the grips were installed I was immediately impressed with the bite of the checkered pattern. It wasn’t excessive and worked well for where it touched. It provides enough grip in my palm and where my fingers wrap around, but not an excessive amount to where it could get uncomfortable without gloves on.

My trip to the range was brief as I am prepping for my daughter to be born, but it was informational. Compared to the rubber grips it had on it before the profile is much slimmer but fits the needs of my hands. I felt the gripping fit into my hands with every shot, mag changes were smooth and felt good. These grips were a fantastic upgrade to my CZ. It wasn’t just a cosmetic upgrade like some of the scales on my AR, these grips provide the perfect amount of grip and smoothness to make shooting my CZ even more enjoyable. While Aluma grips offers a complete checkered style that covers the whole grip and a smooth option, I personally enjoy this partial checkered grip. These Grips can be purchased here.
