Custom Henry Golden Boy Review

This is my Custom Henry Golden Boy .22 from Henry Repeating Arms. This Rifle is something special, I’ve owned this rifle for 5 years, it was a custom build done for me and 43 others for our military deployment. I have roughly 300-400 rounds through this rifle and there is a ton to say.

First the appearance, the wood stock and fore end are seamless and perfectly cut. The metal is beautiful and flawless. The engravings on the rifle are significant to me and the others who received this rifle. The honey badger is burned right into the stock and has not shown any signs of wear or fading. The laser engraving is the same. Etched perfectly into the metal and even with all rounds through it show no sign of fading. The Octagonal barrel adds a look that is hard to describe. It brings the looks of the classics together with the modern.

Accuracy. Many say that their firearms are accurate, many add custom optics, iron sight and triggers. Henry rifles need none of this. You point this rifle in the right direction and it will hit what you’re aiming at. The iron sights are simple but effective. I’ve put quarter sized groups on paper at 25m.

The Trigger is crisp; the break is clean; which easily leads to flawless shooting. The action is smooth and runs like butter with very little effort. Even though I paid six-hundred for this rifle, I need to treat the action like it is a red-headed step child. My first time out with it I spent the first few rounds babying my action which caused jams and misfeeds, after I started slamming the action home and seating the bolt property it worked better than any other lever action I worked with. You can fire this firearm as fast as you can run the action with very little movement of the hand and arm. This rifle only needs a person behind it to fire.

With a 15 round capacity this rifle will run you out of your .22 ammo quicker than expected and reloading is a breeze with their guide rod. Casings are never deformed and come out perfect. This rifle eats anything that it is given without any complaints. I have roughly 1,500 rounds through this rifle and have yet to find a defect in the action, finish or function of this rifle.

If you were ever looking at getting a Henry and quality of the rifle was in question, remove that question and get your hands on one if you can, because there is no other firearm I love shooting more.
