Racism in America

Anti-racism protest

Here we go again. Recently an actor from the show “Empire”, scheduled to be written out of the show, was brutally attacked by a couple of Trump loving, Make America Great (White) Again, Racists men! Appalling! Wait . . . They were black? They claimed they were paid by the actor? The police no longer consider the actor a victim?? What the hell is going on here?

Black men have to pay other black men to attack them so they can get the sympathy of the people, and forward the agenda that Trump supporters are all a bunch of white supremacists.

As many have noticed, the racist narrative has taken to new heights in the past few years. I’m 55 years old and remember racism in the 70’s. It was obvious, common, and even expected. I knew back then it wasn’t right and tried my best not to judge people based on their skin. But we as humans are tribal. It is a survival instinct to distrust people different than our own tribe. Your tribe is the people you grew up around. But over the years, with school integration, equal rights movements, and affirmative action, many things have changed drastically. Many issues for the better, some for the worse. Now we live in an extremely diverse society, compared to my small world as a child. We have all come to the realization that there are more things we have in common than differences. This is a great thing and in my experience. Racism isn’t acceptable or tolerated in this country for quite some time.

But somehow, there has been a change in perceptions over the last few years. Sadly, racial tensions are beginning an uptick for no apparent reason. The KKK is being credited as a strong influence in the 2016 election. Really? I am a white man living and working in rural Virginia and I have never met a Klansman! How about you? How many have you known over the last 10 years? The Klan is dead and has been for some time. Only a very few, very ignorant people are left that subscribe to white supremacy.

Which brings me back to the opening comment. So at this point, black men have to pay other black men to attack them so they can get the sympathy of the people, and forward the agenda that Trump supporters are all a bunch of white supremacists. This is not David Duke’s America. MAGA is not the call of a white supremacist, hoping to see America return to the days of slavery. MAGA is not about taking away people’s rights. Quite the contrary. It is about empowering everybody to have the opportunity to reach for the American dream without big government taxing and regulating us into accepting the belief that we can’t make our dreams come true. We need government to provide for us. That is what leftists are trying to push. You need government to make it fair, redistribute wealth so you are guaranteed a living wage. The only thing this guarantees is economic slavery, where you are completely dependent on the Government for your every need. Total Control. That’s a long way from what I consider the American dream.

So, given what we know about this actor, who shall remain nameless, and the actions he has taken . . . Where do you see racism in this picture? It seems to be coming from the very people that want you to see “them” as a victims.
