Condition 1 Cases: #286 Protector of Equipment

Being able to have a good case that is able to protect the gear that I own from the elements whenever I travel to and from the range is something that I don’t want to cut corners on. When it comes to this I like to make sure that the case is waterproof, durable and easily transportable. This is where case #286 from Condition 1 Cases comes into play. Over the course of this review, I will be going over the ins and outs of this case that I have found extremely helpful in the protection and transportation of all the gear that I use when it comes to heading to the range to train.

Jumping right into this review, I want to go over a few things when it comes to the #286 case. The first thing I would like to go over is the case’s mobility and weight. The weight of the case empty is 25 pounds. I know some individuals will think that when it comes to the weight that 25 pounds are pretty heavy for a case when it is empty. Well, the fact is yea it’s heavy, but that goes hand in hand with the material used and the number of items that can fit inside the case. So with that being said, a big case is going to be a heavy case.

Now in order to make sure that the case is able to be transported easily, even when it is loaded with gear it will be heavier than 25 pound, wheels and a handle are added to the case. To test these, I had pulled the case through grass, dirt and on concrete to make sure that they would work in areas that I spend most of my time in, whether it is on the range or transporting my equipment from the car on the concrete. I had no problems when it came to transporting the case and the handle that extends out of the case is strong and durable. I was able to take turns pulling the case without having the worry about the handle bending or breaking.

The case is able to withstand up to three feet of water due to the O ring that runs the inside of the case. For me, I don’t see a possibility where I would find my case in water, but I decided to test this regardless. I decided to dunk the case in the pool, in order to test the O-ring. After taking the case out of the pool, I checked the inside of the case and there was no water on the inside of the case. The fact that this O-ring holds up underwater is extremely helpful in instances where it may fall out of a boat if it is used for other scenarios or if the case is left out in the rain.

Notable Mentions:

  • The #286 case has 4 latches around the case that keep it sealed tightly
  • The case meets ATA/TSA travel standards
  • There are lock holes available for the TSA approved locks made available by Condition 1 Cases

For my final thoughts when it comes to the Condition 1 Case #286, I would have to say that this case is extremely well made and is suited well for what I plan to use it for. A case that fits everything that I require when it comes to the range, and also can be used when it comes to traveling, helps out more than what I ever could ask for. The wheels and handle are strong and make the mobility much easier on me, especially if I have a lot of items that I am bringing to the range.

The fact that I can pack ammo cans, a plate carrier, boots, med kits, helmets, etc all into one case without having to worry about water leaking into the inside of the case is extremely helpful. After testing the durability and the maximum effectiveness when it comes to protecting gear from the elements, I would have to say that Condition 1 Cases has yet again done extremely well in making cases that can cater to any need.
