NiteCore P16 Review

First off; I am not by any means a professional but, I am a expert at being a gear nut! The first
thing that I always have in my kit is a great flashlight. I use them for everything from looking for
stuff in between the seats of the car, directing traffic after an accident, or signaling ET’s family
with Morse code to come and get him!

Let me start off by reviewing the NiteCore P16’s that I have in my bag, car, and even on my rifle
(I have 3qty of them). It has a push button rear design to turn it on with a “mode” switch as
denoted in the picture. Cycling through the modes you have a low, medium, high, and by a
strobe effect. Now, you may know or not know about flashlights and lumens and all the physics
behind it but, let me break it down this way. There are two aspects you should look for: Throw
and Flood. Some lights have more Throw (spot) than others and some have lots of Flood.
Good lights provide both (best of both worlds). The NiteCore delivers on both Throw and Flood
quite effectively. It will absolutely light up a field like a spot light (150yds easily). It provides
enough throw to see thru a scope and see targets at 150yds easily. 960 Lumens.

It also has enough power that during the daytime to stop traffic and anyone that tries to run over
Emergency personal. (Let’s face it, sometimes people are just oblivious to Emergency
situations). One of the best experiences I had with it was one evening at a business that a
friend owns I stopped to render assistance with the Police that were inspecting it for a break in.
I pulled over and let the Officer know who the keyholder was and I had them on the phone. The
Officer took his light and shined it inside the building and was trying to point out a panel that was
hanging from the ceiling. I could barely see it with his duty light. I asked if I could use my light.

Yep, it lit up the building like the 4th of July! Officer looked at me and asked me what I had. Of
course it was the P16 by NiteCore. I even told him the Department should buy them for the
guys! For the price, the capability, and durability this is a grand slam in my book! I also have
and use a EA-11 by NiteCore. Great small light that can use rechargeable and AA Batteries the
only downside to it is the switch that you use to turn it on with. It has two push buttons on the
side of the light that is easy to hit and turn on even while in its holster. It does pack a punch
though and is extremely bright and it does have the strobe effect.

So, if you have not taking a look at NiteCore… you really should buy one and try it out!
Next review will be the Olight I1R EOS, Olight PL-2 Valkyrie, and the Olight PL-Mini
