Nexbelt Titan Black PreciseFit Review

A sturdy, rigid and purpose built gun belt is a key piece of gear required for anyone who chooses to carry a handgun for protection. There are many options available to consumers, many of which can be fairly expensive. Nexbelt is a company offering some interesting and affordable options that are worth taking a look at. I have been wearing the Titan PreciseFit Gun Belt from Nexbelt for the last five months in order to assess its function and durability as an everyday carry (EDC) gun belt. The belt arrived to me by mail in a clean looking clam style plastic box which neatly held the belt and instructions.

The belt comes cut for a maximum waist size of 48 inches and can be cut down to size as needed. As it comes from the factory, this belt will work for people up to a 50-inch waist as the instructions state you need to have at last two belt sizes larger for proper fit with a concealed weapon. Out of the box, there are a few easy steps required to set up the belt, including attaching the buckle to the belt itself. The belt gets attached to the buckle and held in place by a pair of stainless set screws, which will hold the belt in place until they are loosened manually.

The belt strap itself is made out of a very stiff and durable nylon and polyester blend. As with any EDC belt, it needs to be stiff and rigid enough to secure your gun (and any other gear) to your body without sagging, and to stay in place while holstering and reholstering your firearm. Instead of the other common EDC buckle attachment systems in use, the Titan PreciseFit belt uses a ratchet system with a spring-operated latch reminiscent of a zip tie on steroids, and can be loosened by liftin the mechanism with a lever on the bottom of the buckle. The teeth of the belt are made out of a tough but flexible plastic. When setting up the belt for use, it is wise to measure your waist twice and then cut it to length, which the manufacturer recommends is two sizes larger than your normal belt size to accomodate for the size of any firearm and give you enough tongue to feed through the buckle.

I have been using this belt literally every day for five months and I’m very impressed with it. It is good looking enough that I can wear it with various color slacks at the office, or with jeans on the weekends while carrying my EDC gun inside the waistband. This belt has worked as expected at the range over 5 months of shooting drills from concealment.  What really caught me off guard is the price, while some EDC belts are upwards to one-hundred dollars, the Titan is only fifty dollars from their website. For the cost of the belt and what you get is fantastic.
