Is Youtube Making America Read Again?

With the seemingly endless barrage of anti-second amendment policies coming to light almost daily, Youtube is issuing warnings and deleting accounts on the regular now. Essentially driving all the big Youtube stars in the gun community to seek an audience elsewhere to maintain their stardom and relevance. Therein lies the problem…. For videos its hard to find a place big enough that can handle the traffic to garner the attention that their sponsors require. I keep hearing around the industry about a new website or channel for videos but it is so divided among so many people it quickly loses steam and gets forgotten. It is like Youtube was so ingrained into the gun community that we simply do not support any other avenue but, with the constant pressure some of us second amendment guys may have to eventually.
Something I find rather fascinating is that since Youtubes assault on the pro 2A community is that gun related issues have not went down. So, essentially they are making a feeble attempt to thumb their nose at the pro 2A community while simultaneously shooting themselves in the foot. I understand after a shooting that some companies want to take some kind of “moral high-ground” but as a company that has stock-holders it is never good to go against your consumer base. Think about how many millions of views the big Youtube stars bring, thus generating money for Youtube to run ads on their videos. I recall seeing countless posts recently from a lot of the bigger Youtubers about how Youtube has demonetized hundreds of videos as soon as they upload them.
Everywhere we turn the pro 2A community is getting more and more restricted sadly, even Facebook and Instagram as well. If I posted a gun picture that would get a 1,000 likes a month ago today it would maybe get 300. It is as if they are trying their damnedest to erase as much of the second amendment as they can while they are still relevant. Maybe a new social media platform will arise from this, one where we can actually have freedom of speech and legal actions. Which is why reading articles is picking back up and trending again wider and further then before.
That fellow readers, is the end game writing, getting published, growing yourself, making connections and syndicating your articles. Although it does take a bit more legwork and patience every article in due time comes to light some faster than others but the important part is they get read. But, what is the next step for Youtubers? That is a question that is circling everyone’s mind will they write? Start a personal website? Nobody really knows exactly. I guess over the next year or so we will all have to wait and see what the future holds for some of our pro 2A people until they can find a platform to settle on. Until then, us writers can enjoy our freedoms here while satisfying the thirst for knowledge freely.
