CZ Omega Lok-Grips, A Solid Grip Purchase

Obviously at some point in time in every shooters conversations you will hear the words “I liked the pistol but, it didn’t fit my hand right”. Honestly, I have heard it hundreds of times but not many people go to far in depth as to why. For me the factory CZ-75 Omega grips simply did not fit perfectly. The ergonomics were decent but the texture was off and I needed just a tad more palm swell. That’s where a company called Lok-Grips comes into play with being heavily customizable to the consumer with their options.

So, when given the opportunity to review a set I was obviously stoked as I had stopped shooting the CZ all together because it didn’t have the right grip purchase I required. Stating the obvious, I could have just dealt with what was provided and I am sure for a good while my grip and accuracy would have suffered. But with this day and age we have no need to shoot uncomfortably anymore. When you aren’t comfortable you shoot less and train less making you less effective. I ended up grabbing a pair of the CZ Omega grips in black with a red liner which black and red are my favorite colors. When going through the custom ordering options I went for a larger palm swell and a slightly deeper magazine release to speed up my magazine changes.

They arrived in about two weeks in a nifty little box with a thank you note on the receipt which is always a nice touch. They came with a new set of O-rings and grip screws as well which always comes in handy. Swapping them out is such an easy task you simply remove the old grip screws and grips and replace them with the new grips with no special tools needed. The difference of my grip purchase after changing the grips were literally night and day my first “test drive”. The material and texture they use to make these grips are far superior than the factory grips I have become to no longer enjoy.

Hitting the range with custom grips more suited for my hands has breathed a renewed sense of enjoyment in shooting my CZ 75B Omega. The solid grip they have given me is mostly due to the phenolic G10 material they use with the specific checkered pattern. It feels like it is constantly working its way deeper into my hand regardless of whether it is wet or dirty, the traction is always there. Being able to purchase aesthetically pleasing and actually useful grips for the CZ is a lot harder than you would think. They aren’t commonly accepted here in the U.S. with so few companies making anything for them at all.

I cannot recommend this upgrade enough if you are not happy with your CZ grips then invest just a little more into it and make your shooting experience a great one. These particular grips are not cheap coming in around $140 MSRP. But if they make you want to shoot more then I say it is certainly worth it. If you want a good solid custom set of grips then you should spoil yourself and check out a set of all American made Lok-Grips here.
