Concealed carry is something that many individuals living in the United States have the great privilege to do. For many, we see that there are different types of holsters that are offered for the consumer. I admit I tried what feels like every holster on the market. They all feel the same, and yet they aren’t in a way.

Through social media, I have been given the opportunity to reach out to different companies across the country. I was able to connect with many different individuals and see what they would prefer when it comes to a kydex holster              (primarily IWB). I was able to see what was wanted/needed, along with what people didn’t want. Searching with this in mind, I had come across a company out of Texas known as Alpha Omega Kydex.

Let’s face it when it comes to kydex companies, it feels like when you used one holster you have used them all. I am guilty of this thought process, but I have heard great things so I have decided to jump at the chance to give this company a shot.

Before getting into the review for the holster I decided to get to know the face behind the name. Speaking with the owner, I have noticed that he puts a large amount of pride into his work. He does all the work himself when it comes to the production of the holster, starting from the mold, stretching to the exact design of the holster and its functionality. This is something that I like to see when it comes to any company. The owner sticks to his roots and puts in the time and effort to make sure that each and every customer that he meets has a holster that they are able to be comfortable with.

Going into the holster now, I am going into detail within a few different areas of the holster. First, I will be going into the drawing capabilities of my pistol from the holster. From the time I have received the holster from the company, I have made it a point to get in 200 draws out of it. I had split this up over a course of time, giving myself the time I needed to make sure that there was nothing I would miss in my evaluation. From my tests of the holster, I had noticed that it was easy to draw from my holster. This made the transition from concealed inside my waistband to fully drawn, pointing at the target without facing retention from the holster.

Following this, there is a feature that was added to the holster that I have found very beneficial for myself. Located at the bottom of the holster, there is a wedge that has been built into the mold. The purpose of the wedge is to press the holster closer to the body. I found this beneficial to me due to the fact that it offers more stability when I draw from concealed.

Alpha Omega Kydex has a few more options when it comes to the holster products that he has made available to the general public. Features that are made available that have become noteworthy to me is that the holster is able to have cuts made into it that will accommodate a compensator, along with an optic. I find this extremely interesting, due to the fact even a cutout for both features, my firearm is able to stay within the holster securely. Following this, Alpha Omega Kydex does offer the option to have designs and pictures printed onto the holster as well.

After putting this holster through its paces, and drawing from it for a considerable amount of times I have to say that Alpha Omega Kydex puts out a great product. With the option to put in cutouts for optics and space for compensators, the ability to adjust the retention screws, and possible designs; the possibilities for a perfect holster to suit your needs is finally within your grasp. So for my final thoughts when it comes to this company, I would give pretty great marks to Alpha Omega Kydex.
