This time in my reviews I have had the opportunity to review a product from a Company that supplies directly to the IDF. Agilite, known for all types of gear that is used in the Israeli Military has sent me a helmet cover. Now I know, when it comes to Agilite we have seen the great helmet covers that they made before for different types of helmets, but now I have the chance to test out their new helmet cover for the Team Wendy EXFIL Series.
I was able to reach Agilite not too long ago in order to discuss a possible review with them awhile back. After discussing what they were working on, I have found that they were in the process of doing helmet covers for the helmet system company known as Team Wendy. I was extremely pleased that they had their sights set on doing one for the Exfil helmet from the Team Wendy line.
Jumping right into this review, I want to go over the cover and the installation process. The process is fairly simple, I am going to leave it at that. There is a velcro system on the inside of the cover that allowed you to attach to the helmet in order to make sure that it remains sturdy. I find this extremely beneficial for the installation process. Let’s face it most of us have put on helmet covers in prior working circumstances and the covers are very loose and do not maintain a strong attachment to the helmet that you are using due to different factors.
Next, when it comes to the installation process, I find that it is very useful for users to have these small circular velcro attachments that you are able to stick inside of your helmet in order for the cover straps to stick to in order for your cover to stay properly. They maintain a strong grip onto the straps of the cover and they stay out of the way of the user. I think that the combination of the straps and velcro attachments allow us to have the comfort of the straps staying out of our way while maintaining a strong and efficient connection to the helmet cover itself.
The color and design of the helmet cover is something that I find extremely useful as well. Let’s face it if Units that are around the world are taking the fight to the enemy in different geographical locations. The fact that you can receive this cover in 3 different colors is extremely beneficial so it can cater to the mission at hand, without compromising anything in terms of being out of place when it comes to blending in with the immediate environment.
- The cover on the outside does offer velcro attachments on the side as well for unit patches/Nation patches/ Blood type patches /etc
There is also a small bungee system that rides the top middle of the cover as well. This is something that I find useful for future situations in case you need to carry a chemical or strobe light on top of the helmet. Also on the rear of the helmet cover is a small pouch that can be used to carry mission-specific items as well. This too is also attached to the helmet cover through a strong velcro system as well.
- The helmet cover is also able to allow brush to be put into the cover in order to provide more camouflage that will allow the user to be blended in more with the surrounding area.
For my final thoughts when it comes to this helmet cover from Agilite I would have to say that the craftsmanship of the product is well made. I believe that they have made a great stride in the production in quality gear that would benefit anyone stretching from citizens that are using these products as training materials to Law Enforcement/ Military Units.
The helmet cover provided nothing but exceptional markings in my grading of the product. I do recommend that when it comes to looking for a helmet cover for a helmet that Agilite does provide for, to look into this company before others. The craftsmanship is superior like I had explained before, and the fact that the material is something that is not cheaply produced allowing for much stronger products that what you would normally find in the market.
